Title: Development/Operations Intern

Reports to: Founder, Outreach Associate, & Treasurer

Based in Massachusetts, Family Law & Cannabis Alliance (FLCA) is a fast-growing national organization founded by and run by SSDP alumni, working on the rights of pregnant people, parents, and families faced with Child Protective Services or a custodial dispute over their medical or recreational use of cannabis. Come join us! These internships are remote opportunities, although additional training can be provided in-person if the intern lives in Massachusetts or the Greater Metropolitan Area of New York City.

All interns report to Rachel Wissner (Outreach Associate) and Sara Arnold (Co-Founder) except the Development Intern who also reports to Yi Wu (Treasurer)

Job Description:

  • Research and apply for grants, and manage our internal grants database.
  • Assist with our fiscal sponsorship and potentially our application for 501c3
  • Track donations
  • Explore crowdfunding fundraising options and Facebook Donate and potentially initiate them
  • Explore other fundraising options and opportunities and present them to staff
  • Conduct prospect research and create a database of potential individual and corporate donors
  • Complete annual report with Development intern and Treasurer
  • Coordinate purchase of FLCA promotional items needed (banners, t-shirts, etc) with Development Intern

Expected amount of time per week: 10-12 hours

Compensation and college credit:

We are an entirely volunteer-run operation. No one, from our co-founder to our staff to our interns get paid for this work. Plans are in the works for this to eventually become paid work and there may be opportunities in the future for interns to move up to paid staff. Should you become well-versed enough to speak on behalf of FLCA in the media and at conferences, there are potential opportunities for speaking engagements with expenses paid or honorariums. College credit can be provided and our founder will write you glowing recommendations forever.

Student status or a formal education are not requirements for these positions. We’re looking for folks who have passions for progressive cannabis reform, helping families, and the job at hand. No specific skillset or formal experience is needed as long you can fulfill the tasks required of the position. Preference is given to SSDP students or alumni.
