Jobs and Internships

Family Law & Cannabis Alliance (FLCA) is hiring 5 new interns!  We need 2 Policy/Research interns, 1 Communication intern, 1 Development/Operations intern, and 1 IT intern.  We are a fast-growing national organization, founded by and run by SSDP alumni, based in MA working on the rights of pregnant people, parents, and families faced with Child Protective Services or a custodial dispute over their medical or recreational use of cannabis. Come join us! These internships are remote opportunities, although additional training can be provided in-person if the intern lives in Massachusetts or the Greater Metropolitan Area of New York City.

All interns report to Rachel Wissner (Outreach Associate) and Sara Arnold (Co-Founder) except the Development Intern who also reports to Yi Wu (Treasurer).

Compensation and college credit:

We are an entirely volunteer-run operation. No one, from our co-founder to our staff to our interns get paid for this work. Plans are in the works for this to eventually become paid work and there may be opportunities in the future for interns to move up to paid staff. Should you become well-versed enough to speak on behalf of FLCA in the media and at conferences, there are potential opportunities for speaking engagements with expenses paid or honorariums. College credit can be provided and our founder will write you glowing recommendations forever. Also, many universities have programs that provide need-based or merit-based scholarships or stipends to students with unpaid or low-paying internships. We are happy to sign off on anything that will provide you financial assistance.

Student status or a formal education are not requirements for these positions. We’re looking for folks who have passions for progressive cannabis reform, helping families, and the job at hand. No specific skillset or formal experience is needed as long you can fulfill the tasks required of the position.

To Apply:

If you wish to apply, please submit your resume, a link to your LinkedIn Profile (if applicable), and a cover letter to info@flcalliance.org by April 1st at 11:59pm ET with your name and the position you are applying for in the subject line. In your cover letter please describe your background, your desire to work with FLCA and work on our issues, and why you believe you are fit for the job. While the deadline is April 1st, we encourage that you apply as soon as possible because we will be reviewing applications immediately. Please put “I know how to read directions” somewhere in your cover letter.
